Kevin Harvick
Harvick and his Stewart-Haas Racing Ford were fast in practice and he’ll be one of the favorites to win here for the fourth time.
2
Kyle Busch
The Monster Energy All-Star Race winner has seven victories each in the NASCAR XFINITY and Camping World Truck Series at Charlotte, but he’s never won a Cup points race here.
3
Chase Elliott
In three previous starts at Charlotte, Elliott’s best finish has been eighth, although he’s led more than 100 laps here.

4
Matt Kenseth
The first of Kenseth’s 38 career Cup victories came in his rookie season of 2000, when he captured the Coca-Cola 600.
5
Erik Jones
No question, Jones had speed in his No. 77 Furniture Row Racing Toyota, which was fastest in the day’s lone round of Cup practice.
6
Denny Hamlin
In practice, Hamlin looked good, turning the fourth-fastest speed in the day’s lone practice round.
7
Ryan Blaney
In the Monster Energy Open, Blaney picked up a stage win. The week before at Kansas, he got his first Cup pole and a top-five finish.
8
Martin Truex Jr.
Last year, Truex crushed the field in the Coca-Cola 600, leading a record 392 laps and 588 miles. It’s the most miles any driver has ever led any NASCAR race.
9
Clint Bowyer
Last weekend, Bowyer’s was good in the Monster Energy All-Star Race, so Stewart-Haas Racing turned his car around and brought it back.
10
Brad Keselowski
One of three drivers with multiple race wins this season, Keselowski has one career Cup victory at Charlotte with Team Penske.
11
Jamie McMurray
McMurray’s first career Cup victory came here in October 2002, in only his second career start, when he subbed for the injured Sterling Marlin.

14
Jimmie Johnson
Not the kind of result one would expect from Johnson, who is so good at this track.
15
Danica Patrick
It’s been a challenging season for Patrick so far, especially lately. She’s finished 36th or worse in three of the last four races.
16
Paul Menard
Charlotte is not an especially good track for Menard, who has a pair of eighth-place finishes as his best results.
17
Ryan Newman
Twice, Newman has finished second in points races at Charlotte and he won the all-star race as a rookie in 2002.

18
Trevor Bayne
On track to have the best finish of his still-young Cup career, Bayne comes into Charlotte ranked 14th in points.
19
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
After his struggle in last weekend’s Monster Energy All-Star race, Earnhardt was hoping for better performance this time out, but he didn’t get it.

20
Daniel Suarez
The rookie driver was extremely impressive last weekend at Charlotte, where he won the Monster Energy Open in his first attempt.
21
Michael McDowell
In 15 starts at Charlotte, McDowell’s best finish is 14th. This was a good qualifying effort for him.

22

After Dillon had just one top-10 finish in the first 11 races of the year, Richard Childress Racing moved Justin Alexander up from the XFINITY Series to serve as his crew chief.

23
Joey Logano
Times have been tough for Logano recently. After winning at Richmond, Logano has finished 32nd and 37th in the last two points races of the season. And his all-star race wasn’t good, either.
24
Kasey Kahne
Kahne won four Cup races here and finished third here last fall. But qualifying was disappointing.

Allmendinger has a career-best finish of fifth at Charlotte.
27
Ty Dillon
The Coca-Cola 600 will be Dillon’s first points race at Charlotte in a Cup car.
28
David Ragan
In 2011, Ragan finished second in the Coca-Cola 600. In the next 11 races since then, he has finished better than 23rd just once.
29

Buescher’s car barely made it out of tech in time to qualify.
30
Matt DiBenedetto
In four career Cup starts at Charlotte, DiBenedetto’s best finish is 25th.
